This is going to sound like science fiction, or at least some New Age feel good story. But it is not. This is not only a true story, it is one which has been duplicated a number of times.
We all hear the New Age guru’s telling us we can manifest our life, right? So get a load of this study. In 2001, a Professor Leibovici took a stack of hospital case histories and divided them into two random piles. All of them had been admitted to the hospital for blood poisoning. The names in stack A were prayed for, while the group in stack B were not.
As to be expected, Group A was found to have a reduced rate of fevers, shorter hospital stays and a lower mortality rate.
So far, no unexpected results. We all know that prayer can make a huge difference. So get ready for the good part of this study.
Are you ready? Here goes. All of the patients in the study had been discharged from the hospital ten years earlier! Oh man oh man! What does that mean?
It seems to show that the power of intention doesn’t care about time lines. Isn’t that cool?
If you want to read really cool stuff like this, check out The Intention Experiment and you can even participate in ongoing experiments.
I want to learn this one…
Interesting thing is you can’t go back and change history. If that were the case, we could go back and stop Hitler from being born. But what it does indicate is that results are not locked in until we, humans, observe the event. Then it is locked in.

Hi Tony,
Having read books by physicist Brian Greene (The Elegant Universe), author Michael Talbot (The Holographic Universe), journalist Lynne McTaggart (The Field, and The Intention Experiment) among others, I am intrigued by the concepts that time is not linear, the universe is multi-dimensional, and the universe is a giant hologram containing both matter and consciousness as a single field.
I have witnessed the effects of prayer on others, the effects of long distance healing on me, people whom I haven’t seen in months show up within minutes of me thinking of them, my premonitions materializing days later, and my intentions coming smoothly together. I am amazed on how my thought processes affect me, those around me and the quality of my life.
Your example of Professor Leibovici’s experiment affecting the health outcomes of people from the past is exciting. There is certainly a lot of interesting stuff going on that we barely comprehend. I enjoy opening my mind up to endless capabilities and possibilities… my life is so much better for it.
It is exciting, isn’t it? This is the fun stuff of live in my books and like you said, all you have to do is open your mind to the endless capabilities and possibilities.
