Do you realize that before 1940 the entire world eat nothing but organic food! It is true because it wasn’t until the mid-1940′s that the world began using all the wonderful new herbicides, insecticides and fertilizers that gave us the abundant food we have today. And ad to that the latest in Genetically Modified Foods and you can see how we lost our organic foodstuffs.
Agriculture has become big business and that means profit is what the bottom line is all about. Looking at the above chart, you can see how the Iron value in spinach has dramatically dropped since 1940. Doesn’t mean that the spinach in your local grocers doesn’t look good. You bet it looks good, thanks to the world of modern chemistry. But is it healthy?

In Québec we are fortunate to have a network of farm that distribute weekly basket. It is some type of collaboration were we pay in advance the vegetable for the hole season and we go to a collect point to get our basket every week.
This is very good exchange since the farmer do not borrow from the bank for its seeds and we are provide at low cost from a farm near buy (eco-friendly) an incredable variety of vegetable. we then discover new vegetable exchange reciepe and we can also go and help at the farm.
