Hope for Alzheimers

Want to protect against the effects of Alzheimer’s?  Apparently, learning and knowing a second language makes a difference.  C’est vrais!

A recent study, based in Toronto found that bilingual people take longer to show signs of dementia.  And once symptoms set in, they cope better than those who only speak one language.

“Once the disease begins to compromise this region of the brain, bilinguals can continue to function,” Bialystok said. “Bilingualism is protecting older adults, even after Alzheimer’s disease is beginning to affect cognitive function.”

I wonder if this only works with  English people who learn French or does it also work with the French people who learn English? I have always thought that French was much more difficult to learn than English, what with all those pesky irregular verbs.  Probably needs more study on this, though I’m not sure.
.
But one thing I do know, the less toxic you are, the healthier you are, and that includes cognitive function.  “Brain Fog” is a classic sign of having a yeast infection.  Get cleaned out so you can really enjoy the Golden Years like the T.V. ads show.

    Bonjour Tony,

Learning another language is difficult but so rewarding when you start making progress…

By the way, just thought you might like to know the right spelling of “vrai”…

C’est vrai…. and not C’est vrais… No “s” at the end of “vrai”!!! That was your first lesson!!!

Hope all is well with you!

    Thanks Danielle,

I have been told a few times that vrai is not spelt vrais. But I’ll leave it for now, makes one start to think.

Thanks and I hope you are being seen!
    Tony
