Weight Loss and Detoxing

Weight Loss = Detox

It seems to me that there is a lot of confusion these days that losing weight is the same as detoxing the body.  It just ain’t so!  Wish it was, wish I could tell you that when you lose weight, you are flushing out the toxins in your cells. I wish it was that easy, but it is not.

Our bodies accumulate toxins over the years, everything from that pesky DDT that we banned years ago (it keeps coming back in our foods from South America like coffee) to all the new and exciting toxins that are introduced to us every year.  Your body stores these toxic wastes in your fat cells, and when you go on a weight loss program, very often you release them from your cells to re-circulate throughout your body.  The end result is that you don’t lose the toxins, and you end up feeling worse than before.  More importantly, the free floating toxins now can go about causing damage throughout your body.

Many detox/weight loss programs can actually be dangerous to your health.

Losing weight is a good thing for most people, but you must realize that it is not getting rid of the poisonous wastes that you would think.  Detoxing is flushing out the toxins and most often results in weight loss.  The good news here is that if done right (here’s a scientific, proven detox program for example), you end up healthier and lighter than when you started.

Tony – I will never forget one of the first times in to see you we found mercury in my system, likely came from building supply products because at the time I was working in a home improvement retail store where mercury was contained in several of the adhesives, plastics, etc…

I still remember that making progress on any improvement including feeling better, weight loss, overcoming health challenges depends first on cleansing our system. It took a few days, but I couldn’t believe how well I felt after one of your detox programs.

I remember that Jeff. There are a lot of heavy metals that get into our bodies and you just don’t know the effects until you start to remove them. Mercury from dental fillings, paint fumes and contaminated foods all accumulate slowly and then do their damage. Thanks for sharing.
