I was at the Canada Post Office the other day. Two clerks were at the front desk. It was my turn to be served, but they were busy. The one on the left was complaining bitterly about how she hated this job, how she was totally fed up apologizing for Canada Post. “I’m mad as hell and I don’t want to take it anymore” was her message.

I was listening to CBC radio a while ago and someone who had been given a goat for last Christmas decided to track down the goat. Turns out that indeed, a goat was purchased and given to a family in a very poor area of this world. And he traveled there to see the goat and met the family.

A mentor of mine passed away last month. His name was Dr. Herb Lee and he was one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet.

Worked with a client the other day who had to go to a cocktail party as part of work.
And now it was a part of her job description.
Love them or hate them, they can be a useful tool to network, to meet new people and expand your circle.

We live in an artificial world, and that includes artificial sugars. How many times a day do you hear of someone ordering a diet soft-drink? Have you noticed how all of a sudden, “Gluten Free” is the in thing? Gluten Free bread, Gluten Free Soya Sauce, Gluten Free cookies and on and on and on.
Health food stores are catering to this trend, as are major grocery stores such as Loblaws (in Canada). And restaurants offer gluten free meals, and now there are Gluten Free Bakeries.
So what gives, is everyone really susceptible to gluten? I mean, let’s get serious, we have all been eating wheat since forever!

I was talking to a fellow the other day who told me the story of his “almost golf career”. Apparently he was very good. Not just very good, very very good. He played pro golf in the far east, from Japan, to Singapore to Australia. He was that good.
But when he tried to break into the PGA, or the Professional Golf Association ranks, he suddenly came up short. Not that he couldn’t play at their level, but as he freely admits, his thoughts stopped him.
