Yes, there is one coming t0 Ottawa this month. In fact, there is one coming to Ottawa just about every month. And just think, someone is going to tell you how to get rich. And it’s all free!
But a word of caution, “when things sound too good to be true, they usually are!”
Somewhere, at sometime, somehow, you will end up paying. And most often you end up paying dearly.
I have actually attended a number of these “Free Get Rich Workshops” and this is how it works. Read More Photo Credit
I was at the Canada Post Office the other day. Two clerks were at the front desk. It was my turn to be served, but they were busy. The one on the left was complaining bitterly about how she hated this job, how she was totally fed up apologizing for Canada Post. “I’m mad as hell and I don’t want to take it anymore” was her message.
Meanwhile, the other clerk, stood there and listened and sympathized with the upset clerk. And as I waited for this rant to end, I heard over and over again, “I’m fed up with this job.”
I was tempted to say, “Then why don’t you … Read More
Have you ever noticed that when you work at something, “stuff” seems to happen that move you along in the desired direction?
Crazy or what? And that the harder you work at something, the more “stuff” happens.
The perfect example is a hockey game. Your team really digs down deep and sooner or later the puck starts to bounce their way. And the goals soon follow.
And then, when the final period starts and they have a substantial lead, (more than 1 goal), Read More
There is a client of ours, let’s call him Tom, who recently became the top salesperson in his company. This has been no mean achievement that took lots of work over the years. And kudos to him for all of his efforts.
But here is what drives me nuts. A former top salesman in the same company, let’s call him Bill, asked the new Top Salesman Tom what he did to get such great results. Bill said that he was looking for a sign as to what he should do to get his own sales going.
Lots of hard work was obviously involved, but more that that,

Johnny Carson once told the story of a dancing duck in a Vegas casino. He walked by a display with a live duck inside. There were glass walls around the outside and the duck was inside, just sitting there. The machine had a sign that said the duck would dance to music. Simply insert a dollar, the music would start and the duck would start to dance.
And so Johnny inserted a dollar, the music started and sure enough the duck started to dance. Read More
This Christmas, it has become apparent to me that things have changed, something is different. Our kids have grown up and moved out and for the first time it is just the two of us in our house. And…
This year, why not Give A Goat to that someone in your life who really has everything they need. Or you can give some chickens.
I was listening to CBC radio a while ago and someone who had been given a goat for last Christmas decided to track down the goat. Turns out that indeed, a goat was purchased and given to a family in a very poor area of this world. And he traveled there to see the goat and met the family.

A mentor of mine passed away last month. His name was Dr. Herb Lee and he was one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet.
He was instrumental in starting the Canadian Chiropractic College in 1945 in Toronto and taught at the college throughout his life.
First it was the reports that our daughters are Starting Puberty Earlier.
“More than 10 percent of white 7-year-old girls in the study, which was conducted in the mid-2000s, had reached a stage of breast development marking the start of puberty, compared to just 5 percent in a similar study conducted in the early 1990s.
Black and Hispanic girls continue to mature faster than white girls, on average. Nearly one-quarter of black girls and 15 percent of Hispanic girls had entered puberty by age 7″.
If that doesn’t scare you the follow up data should. “African-American boys start … at about 9 years old, while non-Hispanic white and Hispanic boys begin … Read More . . . . . . . . Photo Credit

Leroy Jethro Gibbs of NCIS fame has heard the phrase, “What does your gut say?”
Just in case you don’t know, Gibbs is in the centre of the photo.
And in episode after episode, by using his gut, or his intuition, Gibbs and his team are able to solve the most perplexing of puzzles.
So how does this work in real life. It works real good, that’s how. I know of one fellow who is a gas man, Read More
Worked with a client the other day who had to go to a cocktail party as part of work.
And now it was a part of her job description.
Love them or hate them, they can be a useful tool to network, to meet new people and expand your circle.
That said, I must confess that “Cocktail Parties” were one of my own personal fears in life. Speak in public? No problem. Go to a party where you don’t know anyone? I’d rather go to a dentist and get my teeth drilled on .
First thing I recommended was the book.. Read More

We live in an artificial world, and that includes artificial sugars. How many times a day do you hear of someone ordering a diet soft-drink? The thinking is that because it is an artificial sugar, such as Aspartame, Splenda, Equal and Saccarin you won’t gain weight, that it is actually good for you. Did you know that Saccarin was discovered when a researcher was working on coal tar derivatives. Saccharin is also known as Sweet and Low, Sweet Twin, Sweet’N Low, and Necta Sweet. Read More
Have you noticed how all of a sudden, “Gluten Free” is the in thing? Gluten Free bread, Gluten Free Soya Sauce, Gluten Free cookies and on and on and on.
Health food stores are catering to this trend, as are major grocery stores such as Loblaws (in Canada). And restaurants offer gluten free meals, and now there are Gluten Free Bakeries.
So what gives, is everyone really susceptible to gluten? I mean, let’s get serious, we have all been eating wheat since forever!
I was talking to a fellow the other day who told me the story of his “almost golf career”. Apparently he was very good. Not just very good, very very good. He played pro golf in the far east, from Japan, to Singapore to Australia. He was that good.
But when he tried to break into the PGA, or the Professional Golf Association ranks, he suddenly came up short. Not that he couldn’t play at their level, but as he freely admits, his thoughts stopped him.
You see, when he was a young boy growing up in Canada, he played hockey, and he was pretty good at it. But he was never
If you are searching for answers to your health issues and so far haven’t found anything, maybe it is time to think outside the box.
One fellow said to me the other day, “frankly, I’m a little skeptical about the work you do at Awakening Potentials.”
My answer to him, was that after 13 different doctors, 4 operations that have left him in constant pain and made him worse with each new procedure they have thrown at him, that I would be skeptical about traditional medicine. Read More
