Maybe it is that I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada’s capital and so many people I know work for one of the various governments in this region. Or maybe it is because we have had more snow this Christmas season…
Are you doing everything you are supposed to and still have difficulty reaching goals?
When it comes to goals, there is no lack of opinions out there. It reminds me of a friend of mine, let’s call him Peter, who was digging a trench around his house to control flooding rain water. This was a summer long process and over the summer, every neighbor on the street came by and each had a special piece of advice for him. Now Peter told me he always had an extra shovel stuck in the dirt where he was working, and never, not even once, did any of the advice givers offer to pick up that extra shovel and help out. Advice is cheap. Action is a different story.
Lots of advice out there on reaching your life’s goals, but do you feel like the picture of the rope to the upper left. Hanging on by a thread as time and effort have worn away your endurance.

We all set goals. That is just what we do, we humans. But when you set a goal, do you keep it hidden away from everyone? Or do you announce to the world what you are going to do.
There are pro’s and con’s on both sides of this dilemma. If you hide your goal, is it because that way, if you fail to reach it, no one will know? Or are you the quiet type who goes about working on your goal without making a lot of noise?
