As each generation grows up, it seems that the baby boomers had it best of all. Their parents had survived not just the Great Depression but World War II and the Korean War. The economy started on the greatest boom in the history of the world. Back then a high school diploma was a guarantee of a good job. And then the baby boomers grew up and suddenly you needed a college degree to get those good jobs.
