First time I saw the video of Eric Moussanbani, I cried until my sides hurt. But with reflection, I really think he reflects the true spirit of the Olympics.

What a great video of Eric Moussambani from the Sidney summer Olympics. That’s what I call passion, heart and going for it! People will remember him for that... the same way in which we remember Edie the Eagle and the Jamaican bobsled team at the Calgary winter Olympics.

It does illustrate that passion is the spark to get started. However, I find that I need a goal, a plan, useful tools, good coaching, persistence, flexibility and a good pace in order to be successful.

My goal is to be successful in various aspects of my life. I find that when I’m juggling priorities, I have learnt to pace myself – sometimes going all out in one area of my life, but keeping in mind that I have other areas that I want to fulfil. Then, when enough progress has been made on my area of focus, easing back a bit and focusing on another area. I feel empowered when I consciously change my priorities.

How do I know when it’s time to switch priorities? It’s when I start feeling stressed out. I’ll pinpoint the cause of my stress and use my support network to get me motivated to act on the cause of my stress.

Through their “Ultimate Wake Up” workshop
(http://www.ultimatewakeup.com/) and their personal coaching, Tony and Marcelle have made it so much easier for me to prioritise what’s important in my life.
