Some of the confusion is lifting! It has only been I don’t know how many years and I think I am getting it. If you have ever wondered why all the fuss about Facebook, then you have to watch the move, “The Social Network“.
At least now I know how it started. It was all about dating! And did it ever spread. And now even large corporations are on board. Check out Anderson Cooper, he even has a facebook page. So I guess it has evolved beyond dating, although I am sure that is still a prime function.
We are trying to have a facebook presence, as I was told that’s what businesses do.

Facebook is way beyond a dating website. It’s about maintaining connections, catching up with friends and snooping on people’s pages. I like its intimacy and how it connects me to the people I enjoy – despite living so far away. It’s the common room at the online dorm.
