Dance Revolution: why following is leadership.

Forget leadership potential, how much courage do you have to follow? Here is a smart idea from Derek Sivers: the next leader is the first follower.

When does a new idea turn into a widespread movement? While it starts with the leader there’s another vital role: it’s with the support of those first followers that momentum really explodes.

Having the courage to support a good idea is as important – if not more important – then the initial spark. A whim or position can easily fade if not supported, and as you can see from today’s link to TED, Derek Sivers’ first followers really turn the unusual into the acceptable.

TED is a great place for inspiration – and at only 3 minutes long, we’re urging you to watch this funny, insightful video.

There are times when it’s bravest to be a follower. Check out the link and see why.

To your success!

Very interesting perspective; I never thought of leading and following in this way. I will act differently in the future. Thanks for highlighting this.
