Listen to Your Gut, aka Your Intuition

Anyone who is anyone knows of
Leroy Jethro  Gibbs of NCIS fame has heard the phrase, “What does your gut say?”

Just in case you don’t know, Gibbs is in the centre of the photo.

And in episode after episode, by using his gut, or his intuition, Gibbs and his team are able to solve the most perplexing of puzzles.

So how does this work in real life?   It works real good, that’s how.  I know of one fellow who is a gas man,  the type who fix your pool heaters and furnaces.  His friends have said that he can fix a problem like no one else.  That he has a sixth sense, where he seems to be able to listen to the furnace and just knows what the problem is.

I personally have found that the more I listen to my gut, the better life flows for me.  And I have found that this applies not just to personal life, but to business as well.

The more you listen to your gut, the more you become tuned into the world around you.

If you haven’t or don’t listen to your little voice, give it a try.  It really works.  Or have you already found this out?

Ever since I started listening to my gut, life flows well for me. My gut is so well tuned that I act on the first thought that pops into my mind… I may be feeling tired or want to do it later (procrastination), but it’s acting immediately on that instinct that makes things fall into place for me.

It’s fascinating to see how my Myers-Briggs profile has changed from being a “thinker” to being a “feeler.”

Tony, you showed me how to get in touch with my intuition which I had when I was very young, but which I lost through society’s insistence on being analytical. I love being able to rely on my instincts. It feels natural, it feels true to my spirit. What a wonderful gift you have unlocked for me!

And don’t you find that the more you listen, the easier it gets?

  3. Francoise says:

Absolutely! When I first started listening and acting on my intuition, I was pleasantly surprised at the results, but not sure if it worked all the time. With practice, I realized that my intuition is very knowledgeable. This saves me time and effort, and eliminates self-doubt.

For me it comes down to being true to myself (something my mom always emphasized), being empathetic to those around me, being perceptive, and drawing on past experiences.

As I work more with my intuition, different parts of my body react… my back tingles with delight, my heart opens with compassion, my gut lurches with fear, my arms warn of danger, my hands welcome joy, and my eyes see possibilities.

I call it wisdom, and it’s nice to know that I have some. ;)

Marcelle and I were working on this years Ultimate Wake Up on the exercise about developing intuition. For anyone interested, there is still time to get in on this.
