Parasites are Real

It is that time of year when we in the Great White North think of going south for some R and R. Just a heads up that you just have to be careful, that you don’t end up with a parasite on your trip south.

Looking at the picture of that incredible beach, it is easy to forget about taking precautions against getting sick. And some people end up real sick, and for a long time after the trip is over.

I have found that taking an anti-parasitic herbal remedy with each meal when down south can make a big difference. And depending on your unique make up, once you find what’s best, it will go a long ways to keeping you bug free.

And if you don’t think that parasites are real, take a look at the following video. BUT BE WARNED, this is not for the squeamish. And if you think you have picked up a worm,
give me a call and get de-wormed

Great article on parasites and energy Jeff. If you find yourself in a “brain fog” where you just can’t seem to think straight, or end up reading the same page of text over and over again, it is a a good indication of some form of parasite. And definitely, your energy will sky-rocket.

    Wow!

    Thanks!
I will send this link to some friends who are in Tahiti for a year with their young children.

Growing up in Barbados, I remember my mom telling me never to swim in fresh water (i.e., lakes or rivers) in the tropics since I could pick up parasites. The ocean was fine due to its salt content.

On one vacation in Jamaica, I was with a group rafting down the Rio Grande river. The water was crystal clear, beautiful. Halfway down the river, the guide stopped and told us to take a dip in the river. I was leery, but jumped in like everyone else. The following day I had a cystitis, and a week after I returned to Canada, I had what I thought was a pimple on one of my ear lobes. When I pressed the bump, a white worm popped out… still wiggling. You won’t find me swimming in fresh water in the tropics again.

I never knew about that, BUT I won’t forget either. Thanks for sharing Francoise.
