Or is it just pinning for an old love of yesteryear?  Or is it unrealistic expectations where you are living in a fantasy world?

We can get attached to a significant other, whether we live with them or not.  The significant other can be an old flame, or it could be the person you are with right now. It can even be someone from your past that you have totally forgotten about.  All you might know is that you have a yearning to have that special someone in your life.

When I read the word “soul mate”, what comes to my mind are all the little soul mates I have and have had. They are the cats which I have rescued and adopted. They bring immense joy to my heart and deep sadness when they leave this world. Their different personalities show the complexity of cat emotions (just like humans). I have learnt a lot about life and myself through my interactions with my cats, and I believe their all have wonderful souls. Yup, they are my wonderful, little soul mates!

I never thought of that before, but have to admit, our old dog had a wonderful soul and she was special!
