I just heard this on CBC Radio recently, and apparently, Queen Elizabeth II has given up.
You see, she used to personally write a birthday letter to every one of her subjects on their 100th birthday. And as a loyal subject of the crown, it was something we had to look forward to when we reached that magic number.
But, she has given up doing this. Wouldn’t you know it. I’m just beginning to feel my age and the Queen has given up the birthday cards.
And don’t you wonder why she has done this? ????
It’s because there are just too many people in the British Empire that are turning 100 years old! It used to be a rare thing, to reach 100, but not anymore.
Now I don’t know about you, but the vast majority of people I know over 75 years, oh let’s say 80 years, have trouble walking to the end of their block. And that means that modern science and all it’s inventions are getting us to live longer, but what kind of shape are most of these seniors in? Not great from what I have seen.
Which is bringing me to the crux of this blog. I have had people tell me that they are in great health. And then they tell me of the medicine they take to control their high blood pressure, another for their cholesterol, a third to control their diabetes and then there are the medicines to help with the chronic asthma. Oh, yea, they also take a pill to sleep. But, they will say, they are in great health!
So what can you do if you are destined to live to be 100. Get healthy and stay healthy! That’s it! Of course the devil is in getting healthy which involves exercise (don’t you just hate the thought?), good foods, positive mental attitude and detoxing your body on a regular basis.
We just had a detox workshop in May and already people are experiencing more energy, less weight and more verv than they have had in a long time.
Check out The Ultimate Detox as we will repeat it on September 25/2011 in Ottawa, Ontario. If you missed it, join us before we sell out this one like we did the last one. And check out Barbies’ unsolicited testimonial.
Take care, get healthy, Tony
Hi Tony,
Last week was full of health advice for me and my cats.
I enjoyed doing my second detox. It has set me on the path for eating more nutritious food (e.g., I’ve discovered curried, chickpea salad hits the spot at lunch).
My follow-up nutritional coaching revealed that I also need to do 45 minutes of cardio exercise per day, and not to eat those yummy “Peanut Fusion Protein” bars as a snack. So what’s my plan?
1) Exercise in my back yard when I come home from work and take the cats out to play. Last Saturday, I put together a routine which I enjoy. My kitten, Zeus, was thrilled to see me exercise, and he joined in by scratching the tree trunk in the same rhythm as I was doing squat jumps trying to touch a tree branch.
2) Switch from the Peanut Protein Fusion bars to the Ultra Meal bars and eat no more than 2 bars per day.
3) Brush the teeth of my four cats daily since vets have discovered that like humans, cats develop plaque in 3 hours, tartar in 3 days, and their dental health is important to their overall health.
I think items 1) and 2) are going to be easier to do than item 3) which requires the co-operation of my cats. Hum… maybe I’ll get my 45 minutes of cardio just chasing them to get their teeth cleaned.
Good luck brushing their teeth.
Today is Day 1 of my UltraClear Renew detox. Eliminating Ice Caps, French vanilla coffee and all chocolate – cold turkey – will be very challenging. Wish me luck!
You will be amazed how fast the 10 days go!
