We all feel down and sad at times. And any one who claims they are happy all the time makes you wonder if they truly are or are they just masking their true emotions.
So what are the symptoms of depression for the standard medical field? According to WebMd, the following are classic signs of depression:
1: A depressed mood during most of the day, particularly in the morning.
2: Fatigue or loss of energy almost every day.
3: Feelings of worthlessness or guilt almost every day.
4: Impaired concentration, indecisiveness.
5: Insomnia or hypersomnia (excessive sleeping) almost every day.
6: Markedly diminished interest or pleasure in almost all activities nearly every day.
7: Recurring thoughts of death or suicide (not just fearing death).
8: A sense of restlessness — known as psychomotor agitation — or being slowed down — retardation.
9: Significant weight loss or gain.
So there you have it, the official symptoms of depression and it certainly is one to know about. There are many forms of counseling for depression, and new drugs are constantly being introduced to medicate away the depression. But what I would like you to think about is this:
What I have found, working with people over the years is that when one is living a life without meaning, a life of helplessness, one begins to lose interest in life. And it doesn’t matter how much money you have or how successful others may think you are. When there is that “something” missing in your life, you begin to lose interest in life.
That statement is it. And I am sure there are various scales of depression, but if you don’t have meaning in life, if you are just drifting, what are you doing? Life is to be lived with a passion, to have a purpose , a reason to be. Take a moment to watch France explain what a life of “blaa” is compared to a life of passion.

I am very grateful for Tony’s one-on-one sessions in helping me overcome a life of depression which started when I was seven years old. Tony enabled me to re-discover my spiritual side which has been a great source of inspiration, natural intuition and creativity, thus providing me with a feeling of oneness with the universe and inner peace. Tony, you are a natural healer.
Depression can start in childhood, as you experienced. That feeling of lonesomeness can happen to anyone. I especially find it happening with adults who are entering middle age, where they start to question who they are, what have they done and why are they here.
Thanks for the input Francoise.
